Some Pharisees warned Jesus that Herod Antipas wanted to kill Him. Jesus replied:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish My work.'”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brief Exegesis<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The term “fox” was not simply an insult. In Jewish culture, a fox symbolized cunning, deceit, craftiness, and insignificance compared with a lion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By calling Herod a fox, Jesus exposed his manipulative nature while showing that Herod’s political power could not stop God’s divine purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus refused to be intimidated. Instead of fleeing, He declared that He would continue preaching, healing, and delivering people until His mission was complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His timetable was determined by the Father, not by threats from earthly rulers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The expression “today, tomorrow, and the third day” points to the certainty and completion of His mission. It emphasizes that God’s plan would reach its appointed fulfillment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lessons for Today:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People may scheme against you, but they cannot cancel God’s purpose for your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus did not waste time arguing with Herod; He remained committed to His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3.\u2060 \u2060God’s timing is greater than human opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No enemy can end your assignment before God’s appointed time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4.\u2060 \u2060Discern the spirit behind opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not every attack is a lion’s roar; some come through subtle manipulation and deception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5.\u2060 \u2060Kingdom purpose is stronger than political or worldly power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus demonstrated that obedience to God is greater than fear of human authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prophetic Reflection<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When God has assigned you a purpose, do not allow the “foxes” of fear, intimidation, gossip, or manipulation to divert you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Continue the work God has entrusted to you. Those who walk in God’s will are preserved until their assignment is fulfilled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Jesus declared His mission with confidence, may you also walk boldly, knowing that God’s purpose for your life cannot be frustrated by the schemes of men in Jesus name. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
