But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. Luke 24:21
Jesus had many disciples who followed Him. They saw the miracles and mighty acts and concluded that He was the prophet to come and save Israel. They missed the mission of Jesus even though they followed Him.
When Jesus died, their expectations came crushing because they had wrong expectations of Jesus.
Jesus works miracles, but His mission is to save us from sin and bring us into a peaceful relationship with God.
When we miss the mission of Jesus, we end up being disappointed because of unmet expectations.
Jesus came to seek and to save the lost by dying on the cross and resurrecting on the third day. Shalom.
Prayer:Pray that you will understand the mission of Christ and follow Him accordingly.
